Franchise Opportunities

There is no better time to be involved in futsal. Futsal is currently the fastest growing indoor sport in the world and has taken the UK by storm. We feel that we are at the forefront of futsal in the UK and have built up a fantastic reputation across the country. We truly believe in futsal and the benefits of futsal in youth football development and as a sport in it's own right.

Our Background

Futsal Escocia originated in Fife, Scotland in 2015 and has continued to grow in popularity with over 300 children involved in our futsal coaching programmes and leagues every week.

Russell, our Head Coach and Director runs the Fife Academy and has travelled to the very best academies across Europe to gain further experience in futsal. Experience that you would not get in the UK.

Our coaching methods are not football dressed up as futsal, they are derived from the worlds best futsal academies, including FC Barcelona and Inter Movistar.

What can you achieve with a franchise?

The opportunities and potential with futsal are massive. Russell started the Fife Academy with 10 children a week and has continued to grow year on year, currently running with:

  • About 200 children involved in coaching sessions every a week
  • 93 teams in our Youth Winter Leagues
  • 6 teams in our Adult Leagues

and also offers:

  • Birthday Parties
  • Futsal Camps
  • Club Affilations

2018 plans include a futsal goalkeeping academy, a new mascot, an improved Nino's programme and Birthday Party packages. Russell has a realistic target of 250 children involved in Fife futsal coaching sessions every week.

How are our other franchises progressing?

We currently have 3 pilot coaching academies running in Glasgow, West Lothian and Inverness and a full franchise operating in Ayrshire. The academies follow the same 'Developing the Player' coaching programme that has been successful in Fife. All our academies share the same ethos and values.

Craig, our Head Coach in Ayrshire, has done fantastically well and is now up to 7 sessions and 100 children every week. As a result, Craig opted for a full franchise and is looking to increase his numbers to 150 children a week in 2018.

Glasgow, started in August 2017 and is continuing to grow with over 60 children involved in 6 sessions a week. Juan, the Head Coach is targeting over 100 children a week in 2018.

West Lothian and Inverness academies are both in their infancy, however, we fully expect them to have the same level of success as our other academies.

Each Academy has a specific colour of kit to give them their own identity.

What makes us different to any other futsal organisation?

We pride ourselves on the fact that we cater for EVERY child and provide a futsal pathway from childhood into adulthood. Our coaching programme and operational structure have been carefully designed to accommodate children of all levels of ability, age and gender.

  • Nino's (3-5 years)
  • Beginner (5-7 years)
  • Intermediate (7-11 years)
  • Advanced (8-12 years)
  • Teens (13-17 years)
  • Girls Only (all ages)

With futsal being more based on technical ability, more advanced children are able to play 2, 3 or 4 years above. We have children in our academies that do not play football and come for the enjoyment and a percentage that are at the other end of the scale and at Elite level and attached to Professional Football Clubs. Our 'Developing the Player' coaching programme is designed to fully develop all aspects of a child's game, creating a fun and challenging environment for every player.. All our sessions are game related, including:

  • Control, Technique and Awareness
  • Attacking
  • Defending
  • Ball Retention/ Player Rotations
  • Tactical Awareness

Coaches will have full access to our coaching programme.

Our Code of Conduct and academy values create a discipline that we feel is missing from other academies and sports. We put a massive emphasis on our values and expect all our academy coaches and players to follow them. We are not aware of any other futsal academy that shares the same values.

Do we only offer futsal coaching?

No, we also offer youth futsal leagues/tournaments, adult leagues, futsal camps and birthday parties. Our youth leagues in particular have been extremely successful with nearly 100 teams involved through the winter months. Adult leagues and smaller scale youth leagues run throughout the year. Futsal Camps are during the school holidays. We are also in the process of creating our very own mascot, Ricardo the Jaguar!! This is to increase awareness of our brand and to improve on our Birthday Party and Nino's (3-5 years old) sections.

Do we only operate in Scotland?

We currently only have coaching academies in Scotland under the Futsal Escocia (Scotland) name, however, our coaching programme, ethos and structure can be used with the same success anywhere in the world. Any international academies would have the same level of support and guidance as those operating in Scotland. Any academies outwith Scotland would use the Futsal Mundo name, example Futsal Mundo - London.

How much does a franchise cost?

We have different franchise structures available and offer a risk free pilot franchise opportunity that will cost nothing to start up. Franchise agreements are adaptable depending on success.

Are there any other benefits?

Yes, we reward our franchisees for their hard work and success including pay incentives for full sessions (16 children) and joining the illustrious 100 and 200 clubs when franchisees achieve those numbers of children participating in their sessions on a weekly basis. Members of the aforementioned clubs will be taken to Spain to experience professional futsal and further coach education.

What is required to be a franchisee?

As a franchisee, there is no requirement for you to coach, however, there is a requirement to work hard, follow our coaching programme and follow our values. We have worked extremely hard to build up a good reputation in futsal and wish for this to continue.

Essential Coach Criteria:

  • Have a passion for futsal
  • Experience in coaching children of all ages
  • Disclosure Checked
  • First Aid Qualification
  • Driving Licence

Desirable Coach Criteria:

  • Have a futsal qualification
  • Have experience of playing or coaching futsal

Where do we want to be in the future?

Each Academy has their own personal targets and aspirations for 2018 and beyond. With awareness of futsal increasing we fully expect our academies to continue to grow. We would like to see additional Futsal Escocia academies in Scotland and to have academies elsewhere in the UK and beyond. For us it is vital that any franchisee shares the same ambition and want to share our success.
